News and Notes

Just wanted to comment on a few items that I'm sure no one is wondering about . . .

Site Layout: We've been playing around with a few things and may continue to change where things are and what we put up, but for now it seems to be working well. On the right we have some different sections that may be of interest:

• our weekly Top 5 lists (which are, at best, approximations of what we've been listening to the most)
• an archive of previous posts
• links to music blog feeds (these are great places to discover new music, and each blog has its own flavor)

Listening: Though we can't post MP3s of the albums we're talking about, we can embed videos and link you to places that stream the artists' songs. If you want to hear a few tracks, your best bet is to do one of the following:

• check out their myspace page, which should have an embedded audio player with at least a few songs to choose from
• go to their official site, which may have music, video, and other media to check out
• explore their Amazon or iTunes product page, which allow you to sample the music (and of course buy it as well)
  

We provide links to all four of these places with each post--the links that say "official site," "myspace," "amazon," and "iTunes" link directly to that particular artist's pages.

Post Frequency: You'll notice that we're posting fairly often right now. This is mainly because we have a lot of music pent up inside and want to share it as quickly as possible. Additionally, we want to get some different options out there, so that if you don't like one band, you won't have to wait too long for the next. I would expect the frequency to decrease in the near future, but for now, just try to keep up.
