I'm in love with this video. And it's Grammy-nominated too! Though their first full length self-titled album was first released in January 2006, Mute Math has only recently hit the mainstream in touring internationally with bands like Matchbox 20. "Typical" has been all over the radio for a little while now, but their latest single, "Control", is bound to get plenty of airtime. However, these two singles don't accurately describe the full and mixed sound of the band. I really enjoy the Reset EP because it feels like an experiment. Each song is completely unique, from the reggae vibes of "Peculiar People" to the instrumental and Radiohead-esque "Reset" (my favorite track). The self-titled album is a bit more tailored for the mainstream and takes after "Control", but still maintains a good amount of that electronic experimental feel.

As for their live performances, a concert DVD has already been released. Lead vocals Paul Meany supposedly uses a keytar during performances, so that automatically makes them amazing. Expect to see a lot of these guys in the future.

I particularly like the song "Chaos" off their self-titled album. Also, anyone who rocks a keytar in concert is more of a man than I ever hope to be. Why should the keyboardist have to stand stationary somewhere on the periphery when they can be front-and-center, playing an antiquated symbol of 1980s synth glam?

I'm also curious as to why they are touring with Matchbox Twenty . . . really, how do they go well together? And I haven't heard anything from Matchbox Twenty since middle school. Is their pretty-boy front man Rob Thomas still with them?
